We have been on the fore front in carrying out community activities and have been working in Preventive Health Care at a sustainable rate in positive direction. Contribution of IMA Women’s Wing & implementation of the Aao Gaon Chalen Abhiyan is note worthy due to their success in identifying local health needs and judiciously using the available resources. We have received National recognition for these activities.

Taking note of our CME Programs for medical fraternity and paramedical personnel, Health awareness talks and work shops for the community and health camps conducted, our branch performance was acknowledged at IMA State & National levels and by other organizations. IMA Ponda has been prompt in forming its Disaster Management Cell under the directives of a IMA Goa State & Guidelines from IMA Headquarters. Knowing the vital role of communication in the Disaster management, an informative & updated Pocket Directory has been compiled and distributed.

Our members have a mission of making this branch a Model Local Branch in the entire country. We would encourage other branches to work on similar lines and reach out to the community with the purpose of positive health. DILASA is one of the most ambitious and substantial projects undertaken by a professional NGO in the country. It will form a central point for medical professionals to serve the community with quality medical services and also be involved with training of health personnel. The project is in construction phase at present.

IMA Ponda possesses its own premises & it suffices our present needs. Thus making us self-sufficient for our regular programs related to professional and community activities. Instead of resting on the laurels our members have worked very hard to obtain land for DILASA Project. Our efforts have been rewarded & we are successful in getting 5000 sq. mts land from Communidade of Bandora, to whom we are highly indebted.

IMA Ponda continues to be in touch with IMA Goa State and Local Branches of other NGOs to support our community activities. We are confident that this project will take the desired shape in due course with the help, guidance and support of all.
