Indian Medical Association Ponda & Goa state joined hands with The Goa Cancer Society and support from Directorate of Health Services organized one day workshop on Basics in Palliative Care on Saturday , 25th March 2017 for nurses Paramedics , Social Workers and Volunteers at Sub – District Hospital , Ponda – Goa and Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on Essentials of Palliative Care on Sunday 26th March 2016 at Hotel Fidalgo Panaji for Doctors , NGOs and Stakeholders.

IMA Ponda Charitable Trust has constructed DILASA – A Palliative Care Centre for providing End of Life Care in terms of Palliative Medicine & Pain Management. This Centre will be operational in few months time.

In order to create awareness in the community and sensitize Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics and people at large site visit at Farmagudi was organized on Friday 24th March 2017. A Press Conference was held at DILASA which was addressed by IMA Ponda Charitable -Trustees, Board Members – The Goa Cancer Society and IMA Goa State.

Dr. Narayan Usgaonkar , Chairman and Dr. Vallabh Dhaimodker , Secretary Trust , Dr. Suresh .B Shetye -Vice President , Dr. Damodar Bhonsule , Secretary and Dr. Shekhar Salkar , Joined Secretary – The Goa Cancer Society addressed the Press Media regarding the project , functioning of DILASA , role of The Goa Cancer Society and running of the institution. A site visit made the people present aware regarding DILASA project.
